Biography

Dr. Heather Hoffmann earned her medical degree at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She completed a fellowship in surgical pathology at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center before joining the faculty at McGovern Medical School. While practicing medicine in the world’s largest medical center, she served as residency program director in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. She has publications on the topics of gynecologic tumors, deaths from the inappropriate use of restraints in nursing homes, the immunobiology of tuberculosis, and complications of solid organ transplantation. She is senior editor of Integrated Vignettes, a 2019 publication from Kaplan Press that integrates physiology with pathology and pharmacology. She recently served as an Instructional Associate Professor at EnMed School of Engineering Medicine.
