F&M Continues to Climb U.S. News Rankings

Franklin & Marshall College continues its rise in national prominence, having increased 16 places since 2016 in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.

This marks the fourth consecutive year of elevated rankings for F&M, highlighting increased recognition of the College’s dedication to excellence and leadership in liberal arts education.

F&M is ranked #31 among national liberal arts colleges in the 2025 Report of Best Colleges. The College also ranked in the U.S. News top tier of Best Value Schools, Top Performers on Social Mobility and Best Undergraduate Teaching. Among the Princeton Review and other college rankings, F&M consistently earns an impressive admission selectivity score, based on incoming students’ class ranks, test scores, GPA and percentage of applicants accepted.

“The rankings increasingly reflect what we already know about Franklin & Marshall,” says President Barbara K. Altmann. “Our students are exceptional. Our professors are not only highly accomplished, they also care deeply about our students’ success. Our programs – in and out of the classroom – are second to none. And our location in Lancaster City is a distinguishing feature among all liberal arts colleges in the country.”
