Biography
Carmen Tisnado specializes in Latin American contemporary narrative, particularly
fiction from the Southern Cone and Peru.
She has published articles on Mario Benedetti’s short fiction as well as on the literary
representation of censorship and torture in Argentina and Uruguay in the 1980s. She
has also written on the representation of gender performance in Chilean and Peruvian
short stories.
She is currently researching the crime novel in Peru during the 1990s.
She teaches a variety of courses related to her research interests.
