Biography

I was raised in Bogotá (Colombia), where I received my BA in International Business at the Universidad de Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano in 2008. Being originally from China, I also have knowledge of their languages and cultures, something that makes me aware of very different cultural environments. I received my MA in Spanish Linguistics at The University of Iowa in 2013. My teaching experience includes courses such as Introduction to Hispanic Linguistics, Spanish for the Professions, as well as all levels of Spanish language. Finally, my research interests include Heritage Language Learning and the teaching and acquisition of world languages, focusing especially on learners’ motivation, the use of technology in the classroom, and Project Based Learning.
