Biography
Professor Aldea Agudo received her Ph.D. in Contemporary Spanish Literature from the
University of Kentucky.
Initially, her scholarship focused on analyzing the idealized representations of war
and heroic subjects by Spanish Fascist (Falangist) propaganda in the 1940s.
After the 2008 economic crisis, her research examined the cinematic and literary depiction
of that economic crisis in Spain and how identities were negotiated in this harsh
situation.
Currently, her work focuses on trauma informed pedagogy.
