Biography

Schantz is a scholar of twentieth-century Russian literature and culture. He received his Ph.D. in Slavic Languages and Literatures from Harvard University. His research focuses on the practice and imaginary of science in the early Soviet Union. His additional interests include socialist realism, the environmental humanities, the history of science, anthropocentrism, posthumanism, utopianism in Russian thought, twentieth-century Czech literature, and the grotesque.
