Biography
Professor Datta's areas of research interests lie primarily at the intersection of contemporary political theory and American politics, with specific interests in democratic theory, political inequality, and neo-republican political thought. He is currently working on a book manuscript entitled Dialing for Dollars, Dialing for Domination that offers a neo-republican critique of the American system of funding election campaigns. Another current projects includes examining John Stuart Mill's ideas on the freedom of speech and expression.
Prof. Datta received a PhD in Government from Harvard University, BCL and MPhil degrees in Law from the University of Oxford, and a BA, LLB degree from the National Law School of India University.
