Rachel SouthernAssociate Director of Regional Admission
Biography
Rachel grew up as a professors' kid in Northfield, Minn. She decided to explore the world as an exchange student in Sweden after high school, and then pursued a B.S. in Biology from Stanford. There, she met a number of wonderful people who worked in the admission office and inspired her to begin her career at Harvey Mudd College. After working there she decided to pursue her Master's of Education in Higher Education Policy at Harvard University, and worked for 10 more years in admissions at Princeton University, Colorado College, the Taft School and Rice University before taking a hiatus to open a natural pet food store in Colorado Springs. After 10 years, she decided to move east with her husband to be closer to their granddaughter. She is excited to be representing F&M with its storied history, opportunity for research, and nurturing and cooperative community.
In her free time, Rachel loves to spend time with her family, explore good food, make her own, and play with her dogs. She is also available to answer any questions you have about pet nutrition.
