Strength, Conditioning & Wellness Center at F&M
A Vision of Wellness
Franklin & Marshall College is committed to student well-being and our proud athletic tradition. To provide a holistic wellness experience and maintain a competitive edge, F&M plans to construct a new Strength, Conditioning & Wellness Center, a 20,500-square-foot, two-story addition to the existing Alumni Sports & Fitness Center. Serving all F&M students, faculty and staff, this new facility will foster a culture of health, wellness and athletic excellence. As part of the project, approximately 10,000 square feet of the Alumni Sports & Fitness Center will be redesigned to better serve group fitness and specialized team training.
F&M Diplomats excel in both academics and competition. With more than one-third of
our students involved in one or more of our 28 teams, and with recreation programs
that engage hundreds of students a year, F&M needs modern facilities and better access
to equipment to stay competitive. F&M’s holistic wellness approach supports the community’s physical and mental health.
The new Strength, Conditioning & Wellness Center will offer resources and spaces that
prioritize well-being. Expanded spaces will also improve scheduling and access, freeing
time for other academic and social activities. The Strength, Conditioning & Wellness Center will require approximately $15 million
in funding. F&M seeks leadership donors who wish to invest in this important project
and support student well-being. Elevating Diplomat Athletics
Holistic Approach to Wellness
An Investment in F&M's Future
“For us to break through to the next level of competitive success, we have to be a
compelling choice for the very best student-athletes. And to recruit that caliber
of talent, we have to make significant investments in facilities, equipment and programs.”
— Lauren Packer Webster, Director of Athletics & Recreation
Prioritizing Community Wellness
F&M’s Strength, Conditioning & Wellness Center aligns with the College’s strategic plan by providing an equitable and accessible resource that enriches the experience of F&M’s student body. Studies have shown that student academic performance, retention and well-being all benefit from programs and facilities that prioritize mental and physical health. This critical initiative prioritizes the well-being of each F&M student as well as the faculty and professional staff that support student success.
A Competitive Advantage for F&M Athletics
For today's most ambitious student-athletes and the families who support them, modern and expansive athletic facilities are a key consideration in the college search process. To remain competitive in both recruitment and competition, F&M’s coaches require equipment that will help their teams build their strength, speed and agility while also providing the space to conduct team practices and workouts efficiently.
