A Dedicated Workplace Safety Committee
The Workplace Safety Committee coordinates, assesses, and responds to campus safety
issues. Their purpose is to reduce the risk of work-related injuries/illnesses while

Empowering Our Employees
We take pride in the resources and support we offer our employees. We also encourage our employees to engage in shared governance structures. They can get involved by joining faculty or staff council, an affinity group, or a campus committee.
Staff Council
The Staff Council at F&M is dedicated to representing all professional staff voices, leveraging the diversity of staff talents and ideas and recognizing the important contributions of staff across the campus community.
Faculty Council
Faculty Council is the faculty’s elected legislative body that sets the agenda for faculty meetings and conducts the faculty’s business either directly or through appointed committees, appoints numerous committees.
Faculty Center
The Faculty Center at F&M focuses on faculty development and is specifically dedicated to offering pedagogical and scholarly support as well as building community through informal interaction.
Grants and Funding
F&M is committed to advancing student and faculty research and creativity. Internal funding for new projects is available through the Office of the Provost, while Sponsored Research, College Advancement and the Fellowship Office assist with funding from federal, state, and non-profit organizations.
American Association of University Professors (AAUP)
The F&M chapter of the AAUP seeks to promote best practices in higher education on a range of topics including academic freedom, teaching and research, compensation, contingent faculty, diversity, ethics, workload, family/life balance, and other issues.
Faculty and Professional Staff Affinity Groups
F&M understands that its faculty and professional staff thrive with the right resources and support groups. Among those are The People of Color Alliance, the Queer+Trans Alliance, and DisabilityFPS.

Federal legislation requires institutions of higher education to share with all prospective
members of the community a copy of their Annual Security Report (ASR), which is available through Franklin & Marshall's Department of Public Safety. The ASR contains information about the college, its facilities, crime statistics,
and where to report any crimes, among other information. A hard copy of the ASR is
available by contacting Franklin & Marshall's Department of Public Safety or calling (717) 358-3870.
As required by Pennsylvania law, if there is reasonable cause to suspect that a child
has been abused, F&M will report this to the appropriate state authorities.
