College Library
Anticipate the Future, Take Action in the Present,
Preserve the Past
The College Library is a nexus of intellectual activity on campus, connecting people and resources in order to innovate, create, and share knowledge. We are advocates for our users' diverse needs and proactively pursue and advance initiatives in alignment with our identity and role as a leading liberal arts college library.
One Library, Two Locations
The College Library is housed in two locations: the Shadek-Fackenthal Library and the Martin Library of the Sciences. We offer students, staff and faculty the scholarly resources needed for their work: 400k print books in two buildings, 900k+ ebooks, 95k+ streaming films, thousands of online journals, 250+ online databases and full text resources.
The Shadek-Fackenthal Library
The Shadek-Fackenthal Library (or Shad, as our students call it) houses print collections in the humanities, social sciences and fine arts, and includes our media collections, the Info Desk, the circulation desk, a clean makerspace called the SparkLab, the SparkSpace classroom, the Library Classroom, the Academy Room, the Faculty Center and the Office of Sponsored Research.
Martin Library of the Sciences
The Martin Science Library holds print collections in the sciences, the College's Archives & Special Collections, and is also home to Information Technology Services Help Desk and Tech Lending Center. In our Archives & Special Collections, we now offer improved ways to discover online archival materials, College Scholarship, Rare Books and digitized collections.
