Williamson Medal

Awarded on the basis of a vote by the faculty, the Williamson Medal is the highest student award presented each year at the Commencement ceremonies.

President Barbara K. presents Roxana "Roxy" Calder '24 with the Williamson Medal at Commencement 2024.

Roxana “Roxy” Calder, of Philadelphia, is the 2024 recipient of the Williamson Medal, the College’s most prestigious award for student achievement. She graduated summa cum laude majoring in religious studies and minoring in Middle Eastern area studies. She received the medal at Franklin & Marshall’s Commencement May 11.

An excerpt from her citation:

Roxy, your academic research that deeply examines important moral and religious questions, your outstanding record of scholarship and commitment to intellectual growth, and your personification of the spirit of the liberal arts clearly demonstrate Franklin & Marshall College’s ideal of developing differencemaking graduates of intellect, character and leadership. You represent not only the power of a liberal arts education, but all that makes Franklin & Marshall College such a special place. Congratulations!

2023 Recipient: Nadezhda Ivanova

Nadya Ivanova receives Williamson Medal.

Nadezhda “Nadya” Ivanova, of Sofia, Bulgaria, is the 2023 recipient of the Henry S. Williamson Medal, Franklin & Marshall College’s most prestigious award for student achievement. She graduated summa cum laude, majoring in government and minoring in German literature and culture. She received the medal at the College’s 2023 Commencement on May 13. An excerpt from her citation:

Nadya, your thought-provoking academic research, your excellent record of scholarship, and your dedication and service to your fellow students and the Franklin & Marshall community personify the College's ideal of developing graduates of intellect, character and leadership.
